James has chicken pox. He started getting spots on Wednesday night, and by Saturday he was absolutely covered (even got spots in his mouth) and really feverish and miserable. Thank god I was off work that day and Ben was home with him on Sunday. The doctor said we need to keep him quarantined for a week, so I'll not be able to take him out until Friday.
Usually, throughout the week we take a walk to our town's high street and do our grocery shopping every few days. The weather hasn't been great lately anyway, and there's only about 2 minutes of daylight, it seems. So the sensation of being holed up is strong and is driving me a little bit crazy.
Luckily, some of the other local mums and I went out for a nice Chinese meal last night, and I had a couple of glasses of wine which was much needed. I feel I'll be able to get through these next few days ... just about.
There are endless requests for "Jack! Town!", so I'm sure I have more days full of the Christmas Town scene from The Nightmare Before Christmas over and over and over again in my future. I used to love that film ...
